Rachel Preskitt, Founder of Holler & Hue
My name is Rachel Preskitt. I’m a communicator by trade and a creative by heart. With over a decade of experience in nonprofit communications, I launched Holler & Hue in January 2026 to use my skills in service of local businesses and the communities they help grow.I draw inspiration from the everyday poetry of Southern Appalachian life—kudzu winding through forgotten places, patchwork quilts dancing on a line, turnip greens simmering on the stove. My work is shaped by this sense of story, texture, and soul.I live in a hundred-year-old log cabin in Fort Payne, Alabama, with my husband and our two-year-old son. When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring the backroads of the South, thrifting for treasures, or tending my ever-growing wildflower garden.
This work is personal—for me and, I hope, for you too. Holler & Hue is just me, using the skills I’ve gathered over the years to help small businesses and organizations share their stories with heart. I keep things simple, fair, and flexible—because when you’re building something meaningful, every dollar counts.I don’t charge by the hour or follow a fancy formula. I offer creative support that fits your needs, and we talk through what makes sense—openly, kindly, and without pressure.Curious what this might look like in practice? Here’s a guide with sample projects and starting prices.
"Rachel captured beautiful moments at an education program, and we are so appreciative of the fantastic images that continue to support our outreach efforts."
– Jordan, Alabama Wildlife Center
"The professional pride you take in your work and your belief in the mission of our organization shines through in every single thing you do!"
– Anna, Girl Scouts of North‑Central Alabama
Got an idea? A question? Just want to say hi? I’d love to hear from you—whether you’ve got a full project in mind or you’re just starting to dream it up.
I typically respond within 2–3 business days. If something’s time-sensitive, feel free to note that in the subject line. Not sure what to say? You can share who you are, what kind of support you’re looking for, and when you’d like to get started.
